Tashmoo Distilling Company was founded in 2022 by Chris and Ellen Ross along with their lifelong friend and business partner Tom Maliskey. The distillery and tasting room opened in December of 2023 serving distinctive craft cocktails made with our spirits.

We take pride in creating unique and flavorful cocktails that highlight the depth and complexity of our spirits. We are dedicated to delivering the best possible distillery experience for all of our guests.

THE TASHMOO LEGACY

The Tashmoo was a prominent passenger steamer built in 1899 by the Detroit Shipbuilding Company and was launched in 1900. The Tashmoo was known for its stylish design and spacious interiors. We wanted a name for our distillery that had some reverance and a tie to the local community and tradition. Our idea was to style our tasting room as a 1920's speakeasy with a feel for how the lounge on the Tashmoo would be.
